A Family Tradition of Giving

Scott, Theresa, Garrett, Lauren and Katelyn Tretter

The Tretter family’s history with the Community Foundation runs deep. Theresa is a former grants committee volunteer, and daughter, Lauren, is a former intern and current finance committee volunteer of the Community Foundation. In addition to their family’s donor-advised fund, the Tretters established the Seufert Construction and Supply Company, Inc. Endowment in 2013 as a charitable vehicle for their family business. Scott and Theresa created a plan to continue their philanthropy beyond their lifetimes by naming the Community Foundation in their estate and joining the Legacy Society. This trusted family partnership embodies a spirit of giving that transcends generations.

“Giving back and supporting our Dubois County community is something that has been deeply rooted within the Tretter family for generations. My wife Theresa and I thought that using the Dubois County Community Foundation was a perfect way to continue our support for many generations to come. We involved our three kids in establishing our endowment, and today, they equally share the gift of giving by advising the grantmaking to causes important to our family.”
