Foundation Announces Two Fellowships For Nonprofits

Dubois County, March 6, 2015:  Dubois County Community Foundation has announced two local nonprofits will host student interns through Nonprofit Fellows.

Girls on the Run and Jasper Public Library were chosen from a total of thirteen organizations who applied to host a fellowship this year.

Nonprofit Fellows, a pilot program of the Community Foundation’s BetterTogether Initiative, makes funding available for eligible nonprofits to engage interns from Indiana colleges and universities.

Upon completion of 150 or more service hours at an eligible nonprofit, the student will earn a $1,500 scholarship to the university they attend.

“We greatly appreciate this opportunity to work with the Community Foundation in utilizing talent in our community. This fellowship will be integral in helping us strategically further our mission to reach all girls in 3rd-5th grades throughout Dubois County,” said Sarah Leonard, Girls on the Run of Dubois County Council Director. “A student majoring in Marketing or other related business field would be a good fit for this opportunity,” Leonard said.

The program supports two of the Foundation’s key objectives including helping build healthy Dubois County nonprofits and providing college students with real-life work experience in the local community.

“The library is thrilled to collaborate with the Community Foundation through Nonprofit Fellows. We are looking forward to advancing many ongoing administrative projects and hope to find the ideal candidate who will be as excited as we are about this opportunity,” said Christine Golden, Director of Jasper Public Library.

“The library is seeking a student majoring in business management or a related field.  We are confident the work experience the selected candidate will gain will be a great asset in their future employment opportunities while, at the same time, serving the needs of our community,” Golden said.

Students may apply for the fellowship opportunities by e-mailing a cover letter and resume by March 31 directly to Sarah Leonard of Girls on the Run of Dubois County at and Christine Golden of Jasper Public Library at
