Forest Park Marching Ranger Endowment
True greatness comes from performing at a consistently superior and outstanding level over an extended period of time. For the residents of the communities in the Southeast Dubois School Corporation, the Forest Park Marching Rangers define greatness. 40 years of superior results in state marching band championships speak for themselves – 33 times the Marching Rangers have placed in the top 10 in the ISSMA State Marching Band Finals, including 9 runner-up finishes and 7 state championships. In 2012 the Marching Rangers enjoyed success on a national level, placing 2nd in their class at the Bands of America Grand National Championship and champions of Class A at the Bands of America Regionals, both in Indianapolis.
Marching Ranger alumni of all ages have special memories of their years in the band. The bond of these shared experiences literally bridges generations. Faculty, band members, alumni and the band booster organization work year round to build on this tradition of excellence. Through their efforts, the Marching Rangers continue to be a source of pride and inspiration for the school corporation and the community – and both have responded with generous support over the years. For the preservation of this valuable asset, an endowment was recently established. Both as a vehicle for planned giving and a perpetual source of additional funds, the Forest Park Marching Ranger Endowment will supplement and compliment the band’s traditional funding sources. It is hoped that the endowment, and its positive impact on the band, will continue to grow and prosper in the coming years. Supporting the Forest Park Marching Ranger Endowment helps perpetuate the “greatness” that has become the heart and soul of a community.
