2019 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Application

Lilly Endowment, Inc. established the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program in an effort to raise the level of educational attainment in Indiana and to increase the ability of Indiana’s community foundations to enhance the quality of life for local residents. Since the program was first introduced in 1998, Lilly Endowment has remained steadfast in its belief that education at all levels is indispensable to the personal, civic and economic well-being of Indiana residents and communities.
The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program is a state-wide program administered locally by the Dubois County Community Foundation. Independent Colleges of Indiana (ICI) provides statewide oversight of the program.
The scholarship provides full tuition, required fees and an annual stipend of up to $900 per year for required books and equipment for four years of full-time undergraduate study leading to a baccalaureate degree at any Indiana public or private college or university accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
Be a resident of Dubois County
Have attended all four years at and graduate by June 30, 2019 with a diploma from an accredited Indiana high school located in Dubois County
Apply for the scholarship in only one county
Complete the Indiana Academic Honors or Indiana Technical Honors curriculum upon high school graduation
Have a minimum GPA of 3.5 (on 4.0 scale) as documented on transcript upon application and confirmed upon high school graduation
Take and report scores of either the SAT or ACT
Plan to pursue a full-time baccalaureate course of study for the 2019 Fall semester, at any public or private college or university in Indiana that is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools
If selected as a finalist, be available for an interview with the Scholarship Committee and be prepared to write a short essay on a selected topic at the time of the interview
Scholarship applications are reviewed for:
Participation in school activities, sports and work experience
Satisfactory attendance rate
Involvement in community service and volunteer activities
Personal motivation to succeed and ability to articulate clearly stated goals
